Aceh – Indonesia, A total of 500 students receiving scholarships from the Oil Palm Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP) across six universities in Aceh participated in the Aceh Regional Plantation Mental, Physical, and Discipline Training (Bintalfisdisbun) at the Iskandar Muda Military Regional Training Regiment (Rindam IM), Mata Ie, Aceh Besar.
The five-day event, held from September 28 to October 2, 2026, carried the theme “Shaping the Future Human Resources for Palm Oil Plantations,” focusing on core values of Resilience, Discipline, and Integrity. Rindam IM personnel were actively involved in guiding the mental, physical, and discipline development of the participants.
The six participating institutions were Politeknik Aceh, Politeknik Indonesia Venezuela (Poliven), Politeknik Kutaraja, Politeknik Negeri Lhokseumawe, Politeknik Aceh Selatan, and Universitas Teuku Umar. Initiated by the BPDP under the Directorate General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance RI, the event also featured public lectures alongside physical and discipline training.
During its implementation, Poliven was appointed by the BPDP as the Aceh Regional Coordinator, as specified in Appendix II of BPDP Decree Number S-505/BPDP.4/2026 dated September 4, 2026, regarding the Regional Bintalfisdisbun Coordinators and Implementers.
Head of the HR Development Fund Disbursement Division at BPDP, Sudi Bawa Suwita, SE, ME, stated during a public lecture that this activity is part of BPDP’s commitment to preparing a young generation that will play a crucial role in developing the national palm oil industry.
“Today’s students are the future leaders of Indonesia’s palm oil industry. Therefore, you are expected to become professional individuals who adapt to technological advancements, uphold sustainability principles, and deliver solutions to national plantation challenges,” he said on Monday (28/9/2026).
Head of the Aceh BPSDM, Marthunis, ST, DEA, representing Aceh Governor H Muzakir Manaf, expressed appreciation for the collaboration between BPDP, the military (TNI), the Aceh Government, and higher education institutions in building student character.
He emphasized that developing the plantation sector requires human resources who possess not only technical skills but also discipline, integrity, leadership, and adaptability.
Meanwhile, the Director of Poliven as the Aceh Regional Coordinator, Dr Reza Salima, SP, MP, noted that character building is a vital component of vocational education.
“Producing successful graduates cannot rely solely on classrooms and laboratories. Character forms the foundation for cultivating future plantation leaders. Bintalfisdisbun serves as a momentum to instill responsibility, integrity, leadership, and a spirit of service to the nation,” he concluded.(rao)
