The public health situation in Aceh throughout 2025 showed an improving trend as morbidity rates began to decline. Nevertheless, the region still faces a number of health-related challenges that require serious attention.
Among the greatest challenges are persistently high smoking rates and low infant immunization coverage. Meanwhile, non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes also continue to register high numbers in Aceh.
The drop in morbidity rates is certainly welcome news for local residents. However, improvements in basic infant immunization, as well as efforts to address the dangers of smoking and manage non-communicable diseases, must still be stepped up to safeguard the population's overall quality of life.
