The Banda Aceh City Government has pledged to follow up on various child-led recommendations regarding child protection issues. Banda Aceh Mayor Illiza Sa'aduddin Djamal conveyed this commitment during a dialogue with children at the peak event of National Children's Day (HAN) at Putroe Phang Park on Sunday (2/8/2026).
During the dialogue, the children of Banda Aceh presented several crucial inputs. The key points of their recommendations included efforts to prevent bullying, strengthen supervision of daycare centers, and regulate the unrestricted sale of cigarettes and condoms in the community.
In response to these aspirations, Illiza instructed all Regional Government Agencies (OPD) within the Banda Aceh Administration to act swiftly and take concrete steps to create a safe and child-friendly environment.
