HIV/AIDS Cases Rise in North Aceh, 57 Patients Die

HIV/AIDS cases in North Aceh Regency are showing alarming figures. The local Health Office recorded that 57 HIV/AIDS patients have died over the past decade, counting since 2016.

Overall, the number of residents infected with HIV/AIDS in North Aceh has reached 219 people since 2008. This information was conveyed by the Head of the Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division at the North Aceh Health Office, Dr. Ferianto.

Transmission of the virus is largely driven by high-risk lifestyle behaviors. The health office revealed that the spread of HIV/AIDS in the region is primarily caused by drug abuse and unsafe sex practices.

In light of the surge in cases, the public is urged to remain increasingly vigilant and avoid risk factors so that the spread of the HIV/AIDS virus can be suppressed.
