Gampong Pande in Banda Aceh has adopted a unique approach to preserving its heritage while shaping the character of its younger generation. The historically significant area combines moral education initiatives with cultural heritage preservation.
To build character among children, local residents regularly organize a parent foot-washing activity. The program is designed to instill deep respect, politeness, and care for parents from an early age.
In addition to moral guidance, Gampong Pande is also preparing a village museum. The artifact repository is being established to ensure historical items in the village are properly stored and preserved.
The museum building is currently undergoing renovations. Once all repair work is completed, the museum is expected to become an engaging historical learning center for both local residents and visitors from outside the city.
