Dozens of residents from Kuala Ceurape Village, Jangka District, descended on the Bireuen Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) office on Tuesday (4/8/2026). The hydrometeorological disaster victims arrived to demand certainty regarding the disbursement of Phase II living allowance (jadup) aid, which they have yet to receive.
Residents expressed disappointment over endlessly waiting for the assistance they are entitled to without any clarity. They felt passed back and forth and given vague promises every time they inquired about the fund disbursement process.
The demonstration at the Bireuen BPBD office serves as a protest against the slow response of the local government. Residents hope the BPBD will promptly provide a definitive answer and disburse the Phase II living allowance to help cover their daily post-disaster needs.
