Aceh – Indonesia, The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) has requested the Aceh PSSI Provincial Executive Committee to temporarily halt all stages and implementation of the Aceh PSSI Election Ordinary Congress for the 2026–2030 period.
The request is stated in PSSI letter Number 5656/PGD/582/IX-2026 dated September 24, 2026, regarding the Ordinary Election Congress of the Aceh Province PSSI. The letter was addressed to the Chairman of the Aceh Province PSSI and signed by PSSI Secretary General Yunus Nusi.
In the letter, PSSI stated that the decision was taken after observing the dynamics occurring within the Aceh PSSI environment ahead of the congress.
“Herewith, PSSI requests Aceh PSSI to temporarily suspend the stages and execution of the Aceh PSSI Election Ordinary Congress,” read the PSSI letter, as reported by Nukilan on Monday (29/9/2026).
PSSI also stated that it had received inputs via letters from members and football stakeholders in Aceh. According to PSSI, the temporary suspension is necessary to ensure that the organizational functions and activities of Aceh PSSI continue to run in accordance with the applicable PSSI Statutes and PSSI Organizational Regulations.
“This decision was made to ensure that the execution of organizational functions and activities of the Aceh Province PSSI continues to run in accordance with the provisions of the PSSI Statutes and applicable PSSI Organizational Regulations, as well as to provide certainty in the process of organizing the Aceh Province PSSI Election Ordinary Congress,” PSSI wrote.
PSSI’s decision came just days after the Aceh PSSI Election Committee (KP) stated that the stages of the 2026–2030 Ordinary Election Congress were still ongoing.
On September 22, 2026, the Chairman of the Aceh PSSI Congress Election Committee, Hendri Saputra, stated that all electoral stages had been carried out based on the 2025 edition of the PSSI Statutes and Organizational Regulations. At that time, the congress was scheduled to take place on October 3, 2026.
Hendri also stated that the issue of approval from the Central PSSI had been questioned by several parties. According to him, Aceh PSSI had sent a letter to the Central PSSI on August 5, 2026, referring to Article 39 paragraph (1) of the PSSI Statutes regarding the deadline for responding to proposed congress agendas.
Before the PSSI letter dated September 24 was issued, the Election Committee had also named three permanent candidates for the Chairman of Aceh PSSI for the 2026–2030 period, namely Muslim, Darmansyah, and Nazir Adam. All three were declared to have met the candidacy requirements.
Nazir Adam is the incumbent Chairman of Aceh PSSI running for another term. The congress involves voters from regency/city PSSI associations, Aceh PSSI member clubs, and the Aceh Futsal Association.
With the issuance of the PSSI letter on September 24, the execution of the Aceh PSSI Election Ordinary Congress previously scheduled for October 3, 2026, is now requested to be temporarily suspended. The letter did not specify a new schedule for the congress. []
