Strong winds struck Aceh Besar Regency in the early hours of Wednesday (5/8/2026). The disaster severely damaged the roof of a resident's home in Gampong Meunasah Lhok, Lhoong District.
The incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. WIB while the occupants were fast asleep. The sudden gust of wind in the middle of the night startled the homeowner awake.
"Strong winds battered the house, causing severe damage to the roof. The homeowner was shocked as the incident occurred in the early morning hours," said Ridwan Jamil.
Relevant officials continue to monitor the situation on-site to ensure environmental safety and coordinate necessary aid for the affected residents.
