Students participating in the LT-31 Literacy Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) from Syiah Kuala University (USK) held a creative educational activity with local children in Jruek Balee Village, Indrapuri District, Aceh Besar Regency. During the event, children were introduced to the ecoprint technique, using leaves and flowers from their surrounding environment as natural dyes.
Throughout the training, the KKN students guided the children in decorating patterns onto fabric bags. They learned how to select leaves and flowers, arrange patterns according to their imagination, and transfer the plant pigments onto the cloth using a pounding technique.
In addition to fostering artistic creativity from an early age, the activity aimed to instill love and care in the children toward the wise utilization of their natural surroundings.
