Brigadier General of Police Dr. Dedy Tabrani, Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Aceh Province, revealed a startling fact regarding illicit drug trafficking in the country. He stated that approximately 40 percent of crystal methamphetamine entering Indonesia is smuggled through Aceh's waters.
Dedy disclosed the information as the Aceh Provincial BNN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the South West Aceh (Abdya) Regency Government. The signing ceremony took place in the lobby of the Abdya Regent's Office, Blangpidie, on Tuesday (4/8/2026).
This inter-agency cooperation focuses on establishing an Integrated Service Unit for the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (ULT P4GN). The strategic move was taken to bolster prevention efforts and safeguard local communities from the threat of drug trafficking networks.
