The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Sultan Iskandar Muda Class I Meteorological Station in Banda Aceh has reissued a severe weather early warning. Several areas in Aceh Province are projected to experience moderate to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds from August 11 to 13, 2026.
This weather condition is driven by atmospheric movement around Aceh. The convergence and shear of wind directions have caused rain cloud formation to increase rapidly.
"The presence of wind shear and convergence zones supports convective activity in the Aceh region," said Niza Andria.
Previously, BMKG had issued an extreme weather early warning for 14 areas in Aceh for August 5 to 7, 2026, due to atmospheric dynamics triggering rain cloud development.
