Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, affectionately known as Mualem, met with Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman in South Jakarta on Tuesday (4/8/2026). The meeting was held specifically to request full assistance from the central government in accelerating the recovery of agricultural and plantation lands damaged by hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh.
As a result of the natural disasters, at least 57,000 hectares of local rice fields suffered damage. This situation is deemed to require swift action so that the region's agricultural sector can recover promptly.
"We need the Minister's support to restore agricultural land in Aceh affected by hydrometeorological disasters," Mualem stated.
Aceh Provincial Government Spokesperson Nurlis Effendi noted that the meeting also served as an occasion for the Aceh Administration to express its appreciation to the central government for its continued attention to the agricultural sector in the Porch of Mecca.
