The Gampong Lueng Bata administration in Lueng Bata District, Banda Aceh City, is running an avocado seedling distribution program. This step was taken to establish a flagship commodity for the village while strengthening local food security.
The planting initiative has been carried out in phases since late 2022. To date, 971 households have received the plant seedling assistance.
Kurniawan Putradian, the Keuchik (village head) of Gampong Lueng Bata, continues to monitor the progress of the residents' avocado trees. The village administration hopes that the future avocado harvests will serve as a signature identity and a driver for a self-reliant economy in the Lueng Bata area.
