Residents of Banda Aceh City have been urged to heighten their vigilance against a rise in scams impersonating hospital officials. The warning was issued by the Director of Meuraxa Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in Banda Aceh City, dr. Emiralda, M.Kes., to protect the public from potential financial losses.
The caution was released due to the risk of irresponsible individuals misusing the names of hospital leadership as well as the institution of RSUD Meuraxa. To carry out their fraud, perpetrators typically contact victims through phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp, and social media accounts.
Hospital authorities urged the public not to easily trust messages or calls claiming to represent RSUD Meuraxa. Residents were also reminded to maintain the confidentiality of their personal data and never share sensitive information, such as bank account numbers, PINs, or OTP codes, with anyone.
