A youth group calling itself the Southeast Aceh Barisan Sepuluh Pemuda has urged the Southeast Aceh Regional People's Representative Council (DPRK) to take decisive action regarding issues surrounding subsidized fertilizer. They called on the legislative body to immediately dispatch a Special Committee (Pansus) to thoroughly investigate alleged irregularities in the distribution of subsidized urea fertilizer in the region.
The demand comes amid indications of misappropriation that harm local farmers who depend on affordable government-subsidized fertilizer supplies. The group expressed hope that the special committee will conduct a comprehensive review of the distribution chain to bring full clarity to the issue.
Responding separately to the demands, the Speaker of the Southeast Aceh DPRK, Dr. Denny Febrian Roza, S.STP., M.Si., assured that the council will not remain idle. He stated that the DPRK will promptly process and follow up on the group's aspirations to ensure the rights of farmers in Southeast Aceh are fulfilled.
