MEULABOH — The West Aceh Resort Police (Polres) conducted an initiative to distribute and install Red and White national flags for the community in the Meulaboh City area, West Aceh Regency. Led directly by West Aceh Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Agus Sulistianto, the activity was held to enliven the commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia while fostering nationalism and patriotism among local residents.
This sympathetic gesture by the police force targeted road users, the general public, as well as residents in residential and commercial areas in central Meulaboh. The movement forms part of the National Police's commitment to encouraging all elements of society to honor national symbols and strengthen national unity ahead of the historic independence anniversary.
Instilling National Spirit
During the activity, personnel from the West Aceh Police deployed across several strategic locations within the Meulaboh jurisdiction to hand out Red and White flags free of charge. Beyond distributing them, the police team led by AKBP Agus Sulistianto directly assisted citizens in installing the flags on motorcycles, cars, and in front of residential homes.
The campaign was designed as a tangible effort to raise collective public awareness regarding the importance of upholding national values, the spirit of struggle, and love for the homeland. Raising the Red and White flag simultaneously is viewed as a high tribute to the service of the heroes who fought for Indonesia's independence.
Urging Residents to Enliven Independence Month
The distribution and installation of the Red and White flags received a warm welcome from Meulaboh residents passing through the area. The presence of the West Aceh Police among the community served as an important momentum to rally a strong and unified sense of national pride.
Through this movement, the West Aceh Police urged all elements of society across West Aceh Regency to actively participate by flying the Red and White flag at homes, places of business, and public facilities throughout the independence month. This collective step is expected to create a vibrant, safe, conducive, and unity-filled atmosphere for the Independence Day celebrations across all parts of West Aceh.
