The Southwest Aceh (Abdya) Regency Government is pushing for the maximum absorption and distribution of local rice to reinforce regional food security and boost the welfare of local farmers.
The call was issued by Deputy Speaker I of the Abdya Regional House of Representatives (DPRK), Tgk. Mustiari Mus Seudong, alongside Abdya Regent Dr. Safaruddin during an unannounced inspection of several vital locations on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
During the site visit, the delegation inspected the Bulog warehouse, the Blangpidie City Market, and the Laris Rice Mill. Beyond ensuring a secure supply stock, the local government also urged operators of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program kitchens to source their rice from local Abdya farmers.
Abdya is recognized for producing premium-quality local rice capable of competing with rice from other regions. Optimal absorption of these harvests by the government and the market is expected to deliver a tangible boost to the local agricultural economy.
