Soal Pokir, Akademisi USK: Program Pemerintah Harus Menjawab Kebutuhan Rakyat

Discourse on Scrapping Abdya DPRK’s Pokir by 2027, Analyst: Must Answer Public Needs

The proposed abolition of 'Pokok-Pokok Pikiran' (Pokir)—or legislative constituency proposals—for members of the Southwest Aceh Regional House of Representatives (DPRK), put forward by the local regent starting in 2027, continues to draw varied reactions. This debate has come under the spotlight as various stakeholders monitor the direction of regional development policy in the area.

Syiah Kuala University (USK) academic and public policy analyst Dr. Nasrul Zaman, ST., M.Kes, stressed that the debate surrounding the elimination of Pokir must not derail the primary focus. According to him, the most critical priority is ensuring that every development program carried out by the government genuinely stems from the actual needs of the public.

The plan to phase out the Southwest Aceh DPRK's Pokir is targeted to take effect in 2027. This move is expected to align regional budget allocation programs, making them more effective and precisely targeted for residents.
